At OpenHorizon, we aim to provide our clients with situational awareness through clear and actionable threat intelligence specifically tailored for them. The key to providing such situational awareness lies in the presentation and delivery of the intelligence.
The Intelligence Summary (INSTUM)
Each week, our clients receive an Intelligence Summary (INTSUM) of last week’s events that are relevant to their threat profiles. The INTSUM is designed to provide you with a clear and timely understanding of what last week’s developments mean for your business.
The report balances brevity with detail. A short Executive Summary gives you a brief overall assessment of last week’s events and how they affect your threat levels. For more detail, the Reported Information section provides a description, contextualization, and assessment of each event. Here, we describe the event in more depth, explain its relevance with respect to your organization, and elaborate on what this means for your business – all in plain and easy-to-understand language.
Making the INSTUM
To produce the client’s INTSUM, we use a combined AI-assisted and analyst-in-the-loop process. We collect open-source information about last week’s events specifically pertaining to the client’s organization, industry, value chain, and geographies. This new information is then contextualized through OpenHorizon’s background knowledge of the client and its threat profile, as well as the overall threat landscape.
So What?
The INTSUM offers a clear and to-the-point synthesis of the most recent and relevant security-related events. That is, it provides clients with an understanding of what the developments mean to their organization specifically and how the threat landscape is evolving around them. Based on this understanding, our clients can make better-informed decisions and prioritize which threats to focus on. This is the so-what.
